Meet the Educator Behind Roots Learning & Development

My name is Sarah, and I am a credentialed TK–8 teacher with nearly a decade of experience supporting students with diverse learning, emotional, and behavioral needs. I’ve worked in general education, special education, and family support roles, giving me a deep understanding of the whole child — not just test scores.

My background in psychology, behavior support, and child development blends seamlessly with my classroom expertise. I’ve helped children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, and behavioral challenges gain confidence, build independence, and regulate emotions in ways that transform their school and home experience.

My Philosophy

Children learn best when they feel safe, confident, and connected. That’s why my approach is rooted in:

🌳 Relationship-building

🌳 Clear routines and structure

🌳 Emotional regulation and coping skills

🌳 Skill-building at a pace that fits the child

🌳 Collaboration with families

🌳 Compassion, patience, and consistency

Every child deserves care that honors their strengths, supports their challenges, and helps them grow into confident, capable learners.

Why Parents Choose Roots

Parents trust Roots because I offer more than tutoring — I provide:

  • Professional-grade instruction based on child specific needs

  • Evidence-based behavioral strategies

  • Emotional coaching and regulation tools

  • Individualized support plans

  • A calm, compassionate, predictable experience

  • Long-term solutions, not quick fixes

My goal is simple:
To help your child grow strong from the roots up — academically, emotionally, and behaviorally.
